eQ Homes Attends Interior Design Show in Toronto

Our award-winning Design Team attended the 2023 Interior Design Show in Toronto to educate themselves on the latest trends in the industry and they are excited to share what they learned about 2023 design trends!

“As Designers it’s important to adapt to changes in the design world, and keep up with the latest products and concepts,” says eQ Design Studio Manager Shannon Granger. “Attending IDS gives us the opportunity to get a firsthand look at what’s new, what’s next, and learn from other experts in our field.”

Shannon, along with her team of Design Consultants, Lindsay Pasch and Emma Rotonto attended the 2023 show in Toronto and are happy to share their experience on the latest design trends in the industry.

Here is what our team discovered: Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams showcased new and trendy paint colours for 2023. You can expect to see impactful reds and oranges, unexpected and crafty greens, and nature-inspired shades entering homes this year.

An entertaining-focused design theme has emerged post-pandemic and homeowners are ready to gather with family and friends. The team also saw woven textiles, modern macrame hangings, oversized lighting, and more.

“Natural patterns continue to be popular in quartz counter tops for kitchens and bathrooms, along with matte black and gold finishes that pair well together for kitchen and bathroom accessories,“ says Lindsay Pasch, eQ Homes Design Consultant.

Putting Ourselves in Your Shoes - Design Appointments

  

At eQ Homes, we know the journey into your new home and selecting finishes is important and we also pride ourselves on creating a collaborative environment where employees can voice their feedback. That's why we've asked members of our team to step into the shoes of a homeowner with one of our upcoming inventory homes (aka. Designer Finished Home or Quick Move in home).

Our Marketing Associate, Katherine, and Social Media Coordinator, Rebecca, have been acting as stand-in "homeowners" for our upcoming Designer Finished Kennedy in eQuinelle and are currently going through the design stage of the homeowner's journey.

The first appointment in the design stage introduced them to our cabinetry partner, Deslaurier, where they chose the kitchen's layout, finishes, and features. They were floored (pun intended) with the variety of layout and colour options, cabinet styles, and hardware available to choose from.

At their eQ Design Studio appointment, they met with eQ's Design Consultant, Lindsay, to choose a second round of finishes for The Kennedy, including countertops, tiles, flooring, and more.
